Mr. Alford Billy Clark, Sr., age 80 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at Gordon Hospital.
He was born on June 11, 1930 in Pikeville, Tennessee, son of the late Alford Carlos and Hester Novela Morgan Clark. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by three brothers, James Clark, Sam Clark and Junior Clark.
He served his country during the Korean Conflict with the United States Army, and was a member of Victory Temple Church of God.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Wanda Vanessa Stewart Clark, to whom he was married for 46 years; five sons, Alford B. Clark, Jr. and his wife Janice, Lloyd M. Clark and his wife Lisa, Timothy L. Clark and his wife Roxane, and Jonathon R. Clark and his wife Pam all of Calhoun, and William M. Clark and his wife Linda of Rome; and five sisters, Delois Gurganus, Louise Newell, Ruth Garrett, Katherine Davenport and Mary Brooks. Sixteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, and nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Alford Billy Clark, Sr. will be conducted Monday, January 3, 2011 at 1:00 pm from the Victory Temple Church of God, with Rev. Jeff Dutton and Rev. Tony Southern officiating. Active pallbearers serving will include Alford Clark III, Jonathon Clark, Jr., Christopher Clark, Joshua Spearman, Jeff Talley and Chris Garland. Honorary pallbearers are Timothy Clark, Jr., Matthew Clark, Jr., Jeremiah Spearman and Morgan Clark. Interment will follow the service in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
The family will begin receiving friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday after 6:00 pm.
