Alice Marie Chambers

Mrs. Alice Marie Chambers, age 50 of Calhoun, died suddenly Tuesday, March 9, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Monterrey, TN on March 8, 1961, daughter of Billie Marie Robbins Murphy and the late Robert Edward Murphy. Mrs. Chambers was a homemaker, and a member of the Faith Tabernacle of Praise in Dalton.

Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Benny Chambers of the residence; two sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan and Tara Murphy, and William and Jessica Murphy, all of Calhoun; a daughter, Rachel Gravitt of Flintstone, GA; her mother and step-father, Mrs. Billie Jackson and Jimmie Jackson of Chatsworth; two brothers, Robert Edward Murphy, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Chatsworth, and Lagary Jackson and his wife Sharon of Calhoun; three sisters, Kim Woodson and her husband William of Lebanon, TN, Janet Corbin of Chatsworth, and Robin Stiles and her husband Richard of LaFayette, GA; and four grandchildren, Kaley Murphy, Jordan Murphy, Lex Murphy, and Lance Gravitt. Two step brothers; Greg Jackson and his wife, Marlene; Hank Jackson and his wife, Carol all of Sparta, Tennessee. A great-aunt, Ina Watson of Crawford, TN, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Marie Chambers will be conducted Friday, March 11th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Woodson and First Lady Linda Moore officiating. Active pallbearers serving will include Israel Woodson, Daniel Woodson, Tim Davis, Ernesto Vicsente-sontay, Robert Murphy and Richard Woodson. Honorary pallbearers will include Jimmie Jackson and LaGary Jackson. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 4:00pm until 9:00pm.
