Mr. Alrick Cromwell Ebanks, age 79, of Calhoun passed away on July 13, 2014 following several years of declining health.
Mr. Ebanks was born in Sneads Island, Florida on October 9, 1934; he was the son of the late Alrick C. Ebanks Sr. and the late Margaret Capo Ebanks. Mr. Ebanks was a diesel mechanic. He worked with Cummins Diesel in Tampa, Florida and at Reeves Transportation in Calhoun. He was a member of Temple Terrace Masonic Lodge No. 330 F&AM, in Temple Terrace, Florida, a member of YAARAB A.A.O.N.M.S Temple in Atlanta, Georgia, and Egypt Temple of Tampa, Florida. Mr. Ebanks was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors are his wife, Katherine Mora Hitson Eubanks, to whom he was married on July 14, 1959; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Nick Leatherwood, of Calhoun; grandchildren, Charlie Lee and Joseph Michael Robbins; sister, Marquita Ebanks Fisher; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Eddie Benson, James Ellis, Benny Blackstock, Robert Wooten, David Leatherwood, and Ronnie Cornett. Music will be arranged by Amelia Smith.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Maple Ridge Healthcare and Affinis Hospice for the wonderful care Mr. Ebanks received.
The Ebanks family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
