Obituary

Alvinell Hall Martin, 86, a lifelong resident of Calhoun died Sunday, February 25, 2018. She was born on May 4, 1931, daughter of the late Rev. William and Lelar Bell Seabolt Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Martin; a granddaughter, Chasity Walraven; sisters, Ruby Tomlinson, Eva Dobson, Melgia Beets, and Azzilee Stanley; and a brother, Adam Hall.
Prior to retirement, Alvinell owned and operated Martins Beauty Shop in Resaca for many years and was a member of the Resaca Assembly of God. Alvinell loved her family and cherished her many friends.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Johnny Martin and Walter L. and Wanda Walraven of Calhoun; granddaughters, Candy Walraven, Autumn Walraven Johnson, and Amanda Walraven Rodarmer; great-grandchildren, Taylor Stone, Kennedy Newton, Langston Newton, and Ryan Rodarmer; and a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Charles Hall of Calhoun.
The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 28th at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Bishop Lance Johnson and Rev. Eddie Brannon will officiate. Burial will follow at Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Jamie Rickett, Rick Dickinson, Dugan Collum, Jim Hunt, Tom Hunt, and Larry Defoor.
The Martin family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 27th from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The family would like to express their gratitude to the management and staff of Gordon Health Care for their care and compassion.
