Mrs. Amanda Elvenia Weaver Watkins age 94 of the Red Bud Community died Thursday July 3rd at Gordon Hospital.
Mrs. Watkins was born in Gilmer County, GA on March 2, 1920, daughter of the late Ashael L. Weaver and Nettie Thompson Weaver. She was always a home maker and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hines Watkins in 1979 and by her son-in-law, Martin Squires in 2010 and by seven brothers, Omer, Oran, Marvin, George, Lester, Willard and Larkin Weaver and by three sisters, Ida Weaver, Dora Weaver Moss and Verbie Weaver.
Survivors include one daughter, Gail Squires of Calhoun and two grandchildren, Robyn Squires Williams and Rodney Martin Squires and three grandchildren, Landon and Dylan Williams and Raiden Squires, two brothers, C.L. Weaver and Sala N. Weaver and by two sisters in laws, Lela Mae Weaver and Bonnie Weaver.
Graveside service for Mrs. Watkins will be held on Friday July 4th at 11:00 AM from the Campbell Cemetery at Pleasant Hill with Rev. Winfred Casey officiating. Music will be arranged by Sammy Watkins and Nevin Weaver. Pallbearers serving will include, Rodney Squires, Louie Watkins, Eddy Watkins, Gregory Weaver, Greg Williams and Richard Weaver. Honorary pallbearers will include James Weaver, Wayne Weaver, Billy Weaver, Barry Weaver, Denny Watkins and Jerry Holmes.
