Anna Mae Selvey

October 2, 1937 — January 19, 2025

Anna Mae (Manning) Selvey, 87, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was born in McCreary County, Kentucky, on October 2, 1937, to the late Grover Cleveland and Sally Manning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Erby Selvey; brother, Earl Manning, and sisters, Evelyn Manning Boyatt, Elwanna Manning Stanfill, and Nadine Manning.

Anna loved cooking for her family and was known for her dressing and sweet potato casserole. She enjoyed taking her daily walks. She was an animal lover and avid Braves fan. Anna was a member of Hayes Creek Church of God. 

Anna is survived by her sons, Stanley (Euphemia) Lay of Calhoun and Eddie (Brinda) Lay of Rocky Face; daughter, Tonya Selvey (Thomas) Klein of Maiden, North Carolina; grandchildren, Eddie Allen Lay, Kevin Scott Lay, Joann Eaton, Jeff (Tanya) Lay, Josh Lay, and Aubrey Ann Lay; step-grandchildren, that she loved as her own, Michelle (Kelly) Thurman, Mickey Hubbard, and James Hubbard; and her fur babies, Lexie, Layla, and Susie; great-grandchildren, Brayden Lay, Camden Lay, Haven Lay, Austin Eaton, Jacob Lay, Joseph Lay, Trinity Carmickel, Clay Lay; several great-great-grandchildren; brother, Walter Manning; nieces, and nephews also survive. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. 

The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Adair officiating. Burial will follow in United Memorial Gardens in Dalton, Georgia. Pallbearers are Jeff Lay, Josh Lay, Mickey Hubbard, Pat Murphy, Shane Cochran, and Kelly Thurman. 

The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Anna Mae (Manning) Selvey.
