Mrs. Anne Louise Payne, age 81 of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Gordon Hospital.
She was born on April 6, 1929 in North Adams, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Albert and Aileen Farley Sorel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Brady Payne. During her lifetime, she served her country with the United States Army, and retired from the profession in medical services serving in accounting.
Mrs. Payne is survived by daughters, Deborah Ducker and her husband Tommy of Gate City, VA, Patricia Hensley and her husband David of Greeneville, TN, Sandy Holland and her husband Robert of Calhoun, Hillary Balch of Johnson City, TN, Leslie Payne of Sylacauga, Alabama, and Lisa Anderson and her husband Charles of Johnson City, TN; two sons, Thomas Payne, Jr. of Calhoun, and James Payne and his wife Melissa of Jackson, NJ; a sister, Carole Nelson of St. Petersburg, FL; and a brother, George Farley and his wife Lila. Grandchildren surviving are Donnie and Daniel Lundy, Dave Hensley, Elizabeth Scott, Tonya Williams, Terri Everts, Michael Payne, T.J. and Chris Balch, Hollis and Andrew Huff, Hailey Wilson, Corey and Casey Payne, and Lexie, Gracie, and Wesley Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Ashley, Ben and Tory Lundy, Nora Scott, Courtney and Nathan Blalock, Mara Williams, McKenzie Everts, Aiden Wilson, and Weston Huff. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anne Louise Payne will be conducted Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 9:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Chaplain Dave Smith officiating. Music will be arranged by Debbie Hess and Dewitt Boyd. Pallbearers serving will include Deborah Ducker, Patricia Hensley, Sandra Holland, Thomas B. Payne, Jr., Hillary Balch, Leslie Payne, James B. Payne and Lisa Anderson. Following the funeral service, Mrs. Payne will be carried to Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Limestone, Tennessee for burial.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 4:00pm until 7:00pm.
