Anne Mildred Moore

Ms. Anne Mildred Moore, age 74 of Dalton, formerly of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Emory Hospital following several weeks of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on October 12, 1939, daughter of the late Leonard F. and Mildred Beatrice Holmes Moore and her stepfather, Frank Richardson.

Anne retired as Secretary to the President of Burtco Enterprises after 20 plus years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Military of The Purple Heart in Rome. She and her daughter Sharon were always gathering supplies to send to our soldiers stationed in the Mideast and they were creators of "Gods Kids Closet" in Dalton. She loved animals, especially her horse "Baby". Anne was a graduate of Red Bud High School and attended Dalton College. She was a member of New Town Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Gray of Dalton, and Donna Talley of Texas; grandchildren, Ryan and Rebecca Talley, and Justin Talley, all of Texas; and a great-grandchild, Madeline Talley of Texas. Also surviving are four sisters, Margaret Cartwright of Marietta, Susie Gray, Ruby Richardson, Frances Ball, all of Calhoun, and other relatives.

Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Anne Mildred Moore will be held Saturday, August 2nd at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Clifford Free and Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Anne had requested that those attending wear something patriotic. A private burial will follow at Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving include Eddie Watkins, Louie Watkins, Jerry Holmes, Michael Holmes, Alan Holmes, Jimmy Gray, and Bill Cartwright.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
