Annie Ruth Cochran

Mrs. Annie Ruth Cochran, age 70 of Ellijay, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, November 17th, 2007 at 3:00pm at her home after an extended illness. She was born on November 14th, 1937 in Bartow County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Edgar Lee Wilson and Amanda Stone Wilson. She was preceded in death by her son Gregory Baxter Cochran and sister Mary Lou Wilson Pilcher. Ann was a member of Ellijay First United Methodist Church, Ellijay, GA.

Being an avid Genealogist, she had located and compiled information on over five generations of her family. She felt it was important for future generations of her family to know their ancestors. She loved gospel singing and country music and had a large library of recordings and albums. Ann was a wonderful wife and mother and will be truly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her husband of over 52 years of marriage, Dorsey Cochran; son Ronald Earl Cochran, and granddaughter, Brittany Paige Cochran, all of Ellijay; sisters, Macile Wilson Taylor and husband Herman of Newnan, GA, and Edna Wilson Watts and husband Bill of Fairmount, GA; a brother, Edward Wayne Wilson of Dalton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Ruth Cochran will be conducted Tuesday, November 20 at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun, with Rev. Gil McGinnis and Rev. Paul Hanna officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at Ryo. Music will be arranged by Jeff Rogers. Active pallbearers will include Calvin Watts, Dan Cochran, David Cochran, Thomas Payne, Leyon Stone, and C.J. Blalock. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 2:15pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and again from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
