Ansel Sutherland

Mr. Ansel Crayton Sutherland, age 80 of Resaca, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 in Rome following two months of illness.

He was born on January 13, 1930 in Greenville, South Carolina, son of the late Arthur and Mattie Tyner Sutherland. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Russell Sutherland; several brothers, and a sister. During his lifetime he was self employed in the textile industry.

Mr. Sutherland is survived by his wife, Sue Sutherland to whom he was married for 55 years; a daughter, Karon Kilpatrick and her husband Dwayne of Sugar Valley; three grandchildren, Brooke Whitfield, April Kilpatrick and Tara Green; a great- grandchild, Katlyne Green; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Ansel Crayton Sutherland will be conducted Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Rice officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will include Billy Green, Stephen Whitfield, Terry Green, Connor Black, Trevor Black, and Doug Johnson. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday from 11:00am and until the funeral hour of 1:00pm.
