Anthony VanDyke, 57, of Calhoun, loving husband of Donna VanDyke, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Redmond Regional Medical Center, following several years of declining health. Anthony was born in Gordon County on June 2, 1960. He retired from the Calhoun Police Department. Anthony loved to restore classic trucks and he enjoyed drawing cartoon characters.
The VanDyke family will receive friends on Thursday, August 17th, from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, August 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Bobby Rogers will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Fauscette Family Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tomas Payne, Ricky Silvers, Mike Reece, Jeff Fauscette, Jimmy Reece, David Couch, Allen Bridwell, Dusty Causby, and William Bridwell; honorary pallbearers are Terry Gordon, Randy Gallman, Walter Harrell, Harris Housley, Raymond Holcomb, Bobby Banks, and Carly Hamsley.
Along with his wife, Donna, Anthony is survived by his son, Mark Anthony VanDyke; his mother, Ellen Louise VandDyke; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Randy and Mary Ann VanDyke, Timothy Harlan and Tonia VanDyke, and Keith A. and Charmon VanDyke; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Charles William VanDyke, and by his nephew, Cameron Alexander VanDyke.
