Audrey Gravitt Baker

Mrs. Audrey Gravitt Baker, age 81, of Resaca, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at Hamilton Medical Center, following a long illness.

Mrs. Baker was born in Gordon County on November 14, 1925, daughter of the late Perrino C. and Viola Tatum Gravitt. She was a member of Olivia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Baker; a daughter, Paulette Wallace; and two brothers; Howard Gravitt and J.P. Gravitt.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, A. J. Baker; sons, Claude Baker and his wife Sheila, Gary Baker, and Ricky Baker, all of Resaca; two daughters; Loretta Cornette and her husband Ronny of Calhoun; and Joan Kaiser of Resaca. Fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Audrey Baker will be held Thursday, December 14, at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Beach officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:00pm on Thursday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm.
