Austin Langley

February 1, 1930 — April 25, 2009

Mr. Austin Langley, age 79 of Fairview Road, Calhoun, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Floyd Medical Center. He was born on February 1, 1930 in Gordon County; son of the late Chess and Stella Carroll Langley. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Glass, and Bonnie Morrow; and by three brothers, Rayford (Red) Langley, William (Dude) Langley and James Edward Langley. Mr. Langley was retired from Ford Motor Company, where he was a member of the UAW Local # 882. He served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Langley is survived by two sisters, Melenese Langley and Elsie Langley, both of Calhoun; and two brothers, Raymond Langley and his wife Jo of Calhoun, and Bob Langley and his wife Matlee of Adairsville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Austin Langley will be conducted Monday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Thomas and Rev. Tony Coggins officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Fairview Cemetery at Hall Memorial Baptist Church, with Rev. Joe Hall conducting the graveside service. Singing will be arranged by Mrs. Pat Hall and Mrs. Rachel Gazaway. Active pallbearers serving will include Daniel Brown, Tony Morrow, James Langley, W.M. Glass, Steve Glass and Charles Godfrey. Honorary pallbearers serving will include Clay Brown, Charles (Kokomo) Guyton, Paul Patterson and Mitchell Greeson. The family will begin receiving friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Sunday after 4:00pm.
