Mrs. Azalee Campbell Fowler, age 83 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Gordon County on September 15, 1925, daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Baker and Lemmer Fowler Baker. Mrs. Fowler was a life-long resident of Gordon County, and owned and operated Campbell's Bargain Barn. She was a member of the Victory Temple Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Campbell, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jonah Campbell of Calhoun; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bob Johns of Calhoun; a brother and sister-in-law, Barnett and Hazel Baker of Newnan; grandchildren, Dawn and Greg Dodd of Calhoun, John and Kathy Campbell of Fairmount, and Robby and Stacey Campbell of Oakman; and great-grandchildren, Ali Laviana, Garrett Dodd, Brooke Campbell, Austin Campbell, Tristen Campbell, Luke Campbell, and Jada Campbell.
Funeral services for Mrs. Azalee Campbell Fowler will be conducted Monday, March 23 at 3:00pm from the Victory Temple Church of God, with Rev. Jeff Dutton and Rev. Steve Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Charles Baker, Claude Baker, Marvin Baker, Mike Baker, Jimmy White, and Gerald White. Mrs. Fowler will lie in state at Victory Temple Church of God from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
