Banks Crump

Banks Crump, 81 of the Sonoraville community, died at his home Saturday, January 21, 2017. He was born in Gordon County on November 15, 1935, son of the late Jefferson Boyce Crump and Lillian Dillard Crump. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, J.C. Crump.
Banks retired from Shaw Industries after more than thirty years of service. After his retirement, he greatly enjoyed raising cattle on his farm.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley C. Crump; sons, Lee Crump and Paul Crump and his wife Kassy; a sister Barbara Gee and her husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Crystal Whitfield and her husband George, Lea Jordan and her husband Marcus; great-grandchildren, George Whitfield, Chase Whitfield, and Paisley Jordan; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, January 23rd at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Bro. Randy Sutherland and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Joe Hall, Tyrone Wilson, Lamar Crump, Ricky Witt, Bobby Carney, Ronald Graham, Stevie Robinson, and Barry Hall. Honorary pallbearers serving are Roy King, Mack Knight, Donald Worley, Jack Dyer, Joe Darby, Kip Williams, Matt Barton, and Marty Black.
The Crump family will receive friends on Sunday, January 22nd at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
