Barbara Ann Greene

Mrs. Barbara Ann Greene, age 69 of Calhoun, died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at her residence following several years of declining health.

She was born on June 27, 1942 in Chattanooga, TN, daughter of the late John Henry Smith and Alma Elizabeth Towe Smith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lois Peace, and brother, Starlin Smith. Mrs. Greene was associated with Cherokee Nursing Home for 18 years as Dietary Aide, and later retired from Mohawk Industries.

Survivors are her husband, Marvin Frank Greene, to whom she was married for 45 years; a daughter, Teresa Ensley of Calhoun; a son, Eric Greene and his wife Hollie of Calhoun; a sister, Coedyn Ray and her husband Lonnie of Kingston; and a brother, James Smith and his wife Shirley of Douglasville. Grandchildren surviving are Brandon Ensley, Reece Greene, Savannah Glover and Christina Grammer. A great-grandchild, Aubrie Glover; special friend, Kathy Petty; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Ann Green will be conducted Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 2:00pm from the Freedom House of Worship, with Rev. Richard Pack and Rev. Chris Pack officiating. Active pallbearers will include Andrew Bray, Brandon Ensley, Wayne Floyd, Eric Greene, Terry Floyd and Jonathan Bray. Chad Peace and Jonathan Harrison will be honorary escorts. Interment will follow the service at the Towe's Chapel Cemetery.

The Greene family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday after 5:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions are made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
