Barbara Ann Muse Kennedy

Mrs. Barbara Ann Muse Kennedy age 61 of Resaca, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Erlanger Medical Center.

Mrs. Kennedy was born in Catoosa County, Georgia on September 21, 1946 daughter of the late Hershel Leon Muse and the late Edith Inez Burns Muse. She worked at Springs Industries until becoming disabled and was of the Baptist faith. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Muse and Gary Muse, and a sister, Betty Dean.

Survivors include her husband, Tony Patrick Kennedy of Resaca; two daughters and a son-in-law, Connie Massingill of Hawesville, KY and Tammy and Steve Broyles of Calhoun; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Michelle Massingill of Nicklesville, and Tony and Donna Massingill of Dalton; a daughter-in-law, Tammi Massingill; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Clifford Mullins of Murray County, Helen and Marvin Massingill of Sugar Valley, Carolyn and Claude Parker of Calhoun, and Gail and David Roden of Ranger; two brothers, Hershel Muse of Calhoun, and Kenneth Muse and his wife Jan of Dalton; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Dean of Resaca, Alan Kennedy and his wife Pam, Lewis Kennedy and his wife Sherry, and Jamey Kennedy and his wife Tiera; and sisters-in-law, Misty Dyer, Lorine and Morgan Waters, Loretta Kennedy, and Allison Kennedy. Thirteen grandchildren, a great grandchild, and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Ann Muse Kennedy will be conducted Wednesday, May 7 at 2:00pm from the Way of the Cross Church, with Rev. David Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the Love Joy Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Russell Owenby, Richard Owenby, David Roden, Jr., David Roden, Sr., Irvin Dewayne Rich, Randy Newberry, Greg Newberry, and Keith Parker. Mrs. Kennedy will lie in state at the Way of the Cross Church where the family will receive friends beginning Tuesday, at 1:00pm.
