Barbara Parker Guyton

Barbara Parker Guyton, 64 of Sugar Valley, died Sunday, October 22, 2017 at her home, following several years of declining health. She was born on October 5, 1953, daughter of the late Elbert and Sarah Louise Harris Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Samuel Parker; and sisters, Carolyn Parker, Shirley Ann Gayley, and Shirl Gourley.
Barbara was a member of East Calhoun Church.
Survivors include her husband, James David Guyton; a son, David Shane Guyton of Calhoun; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Michelle and Brian Eugene Sikes of Sugar Valley; siblings, Gary Stevie Parker of Calhoun, Jerry Parker of Dalton, Michael Wayne Parker of Ranger, Nina Gean Parker of Calhoun, Patricia Ann Parker of Dalton, and Patricia Ann Nation of Calhoun; grandchildren, Jessica Elaine Sikes, Brittany Nichole Sikes, and Brandon Shane Sikes; great-grandchildren, Lillian Rose Harmon, and Eli James Haithcock; nieces and nephews, Sherry Lynn Gourley, Angela Marie Gourley, Mary Ellen Gourley, Billy Mayford Gourley, Jennifer Russel, and Linda Gourley; and other nieces and nephews.
Services to honor the life of Barbara Parker Guyton will be held Wednesday, October 25th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Keith Reid and Pastor Tim Reid officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Sugar Valley UMC Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Wyatt Haithcock, Adam Parker, Jess Byars, and Rodney Curtis. Stevie Parker will serve as honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 24th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
