Obituary

Barbara Roberson Greeson, 72, of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018, following several years of declining health. She was born in Bartow County, GA on April 5, 1945, daughter of the late T.M. and Ethel Ozella Shaw Roberson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Mark Greeson; a brother, Tony Shedd; and her sister, Bettie Lou Nelson.
Barbara kept many children over the years, and had been employed with Wal-Mart. Barbara was a devoted wife to her husband of 53 years, loving and caring mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren, and loyal relative and friend to many. She will be remembered for her welcoming glow and many artful talents, including crochet, sewing, and cooking. Well known for being the best Rice Krispie treat creator to ever exist, and known for sending them around the world, Barbara had a special kindness about her and the ability to make anyone feel comfortable and rarely met a stranger.
She leaves behind her husband, Rev. Crawford Greeson; her daughters, Kim Gallman and her husband Anthony; and Carrie Greeson-Parish, all of Calhoun; her brother, Johnny Roberson of Cartersville; grandchildren, Jacob Gallman, Jonah Gallman, Savannah Gallman, William Parish, and Preslie Parish; and a great-grandson, Noah Gallman. Nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Services to honor the life of Barbara Roberson Greeson will be held Wednesday, January 24th at 2:00 PM, from Harmony Grove Baptist Church, 2903 Old Grade Road, Dalton, GA 30721. Rev. Jack Edwards, Rev. Lamar Beason, and Rev. Roger Hooker will officiate. Her body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Music will be arranged by Earl Abernathy. Burial will follow in Fidelle Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Jonah Gallman, Jacob Gallman, Ted Dodd, J.R. Greeson, Chris Cabe, and Tyler Cabe. Honorary pallbearers are William Parish, and members of Evergreen Baptist Church.
The Greeson family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 23rd from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
