Barbara Ruth Kilgore

Mrs. Barbara Ruth Kilgore, age 67 of Calhoun, GA passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. She was born in Bartow County, GA on September 21, 1945 daughter of Odell Ghorley Watters and the late John D. Watters.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved riding motorcycles, pontooning, and singing. Prior to her illness, she was employed with Shaw Industries, and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Billy Kilgore; three sons, Willie Swafford, Jimmy Swafford and his wife Michelle, and Ricky Kilgore, all of Calhoun; four daughters, Suzette Long of Chatsworth, Mary Watters and her husband David of Carrollton, Donna Moore and her husband Roy of Douglasville, and Kathy Ballard of Detroit, MI; mothers, Odell Ghorley Watters and Ruth Watters; four brothers, Doug Watters and his wife Ruth of Calhoun, John Watters and his wife Diane of Rome, David Watters and his wife Mary of Carrollton, and Gary Watters of Rome; and two sisters, Carol Christensen and Sandy Watters, both of Rome. Grandchildren surviving are Jessica Daley, Branden Barnes, Kirsten Swafford, Halie Swafford, Ricky Kilgore, Shaun Kilgore, Jeremy Kilgore, Melissa Long, Christina Maness, Chris Watters, Jeff Watters, Angie Kilgore, Randy Busbin, Chris Busbin, Josh Busbin, Billy Busbin, and Branden Ballard; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. Other survivors are special friends Becky Young and Trammell Roach.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Ruth Kilgore will be held Tuesday, December 11th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Black officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers include Gary King, Anthony Shippey, TJ Daily, Bubba Swafford, Cody King, and Gene Long.

The Kilgore family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
