Barry Donavan Hobgood

Barry Donavan Hobgood, age 20 of Calhoun, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Gordon Hospital.

Barry was born on November 15, 1990 in Floyd County, son of Donald and Tammy Renee Lewis Hobgood. He graduated from Sonoraville High School, Class of 2009, where he excelled in construction studies and used his talents for Habitat for Humanity. He was employed by the J.M. Huber Company, and attended the Bethesda Baptist Church.

Survivors are his parents, Donald and Tammy Hobgood; a brother, Blake Hobgood of Calhoun; grandparents, Viola Lewis of Calhoun, Howard and Brenda Lewis of Rome, and Ken Cantrell of Chatsworth; a great grandparent, Ruth Lewis of Rome; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Barry Donavan Hobgood will be conducted Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 2:00 pm from the Bethesda Baptist Church, with Rev. J. Clinton Green and Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. Active pallbearers serving will include Brandon Rollins, Dylan Coker, Randy Mulkey, Andy Mulkey, Lance Chastain and Josh Kirby. These gentlemen are requested to meet at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday at 1:00pm. Honorary pallbearers are Stephen Ogle, Joseph Land, Casey Raines, Howard Lewis, Chris Fletcher, Jacob Brown and Cody Blankenship. They may meet at Bethesda Baptist Church on Sunday at 1:30pm. Interment will follow the service in the Bethesda Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
