Obituary

Becky (Defoor) Dean, 55, of Resaca, Georgia died Saturday, March 13, 2021 at her residence following several months declining health.
Becky was born in Douglasville, Georgia on September 30, 1965, daughter of the late Charlie and Emma Lee Groomes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Joe Groomes and Kenneth Groomes and her first husband, David Defoor. Prior to ill health, she was a private caregiver and she attended Red Bud High School.
Survivors include her husband Jimmy Dean to whom she was married for 11 years; daughters, Jennie (Dee) Gardner, Tonya (Judd) Brannon and Melissa (Chris) Cartwright; five sons, Kevin (Ashley) Fuller, Nick Defoor (Charity Sikes), Michael Patton, Johnny (Becky) Underwood, Steve Dean; two sisters, Renee (Jimmy) Holder, Elaine Bunch; grandchildren, Mason, Makenlee and Mia Fuller; Courtney, Ralston, Geronimo Deeson Jr., and Olen Gardner; Nevaeh, Brexli and Haven Defoor; Emily and Rylie Haynes; Jada Brannon, along with many others by marriage; Great-grandchildren, and many more by marriage; nieces and nephews, Marlena and Greg Wilson, Andrew and Sadie Wilson, Eric, Tina, Chelsey, Amber and Jarrett Groomes along with many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Becky (Defoor) Dean will be conducted Wednesday, March 17th at 2:00 PM from The Way of The Cross Church with Rev. Jimmy Black and Rev. Randy Fouts officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery near Resaca.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 16th at the funeral home between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
