Benny E. Caldwell

Mr. Benny E. Caldwell, age 66 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was born in Chattooga County on April 12, 1942, son of the late Roy Lee Caldwell and Nancy Turner Caldwell. Mr. Caldwell was a veteran, having served his country in the US Army, and was a member of the American Legion. He was retired from the textile industry and had been employed by Mohawk Industries.

Survivors include a son, Obbie Caldwell of Calhoun; a daughter, Lisa Riel and her husband Larry of Plainville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Calvin and Shirley Caldwell of Tennessee, and Ricky and Barbara Caldwell of California; two sisters, Ruth Middleton and her husband Russell of Calhoun, and Doris Caldwell of Chattanooga. Five grandchildren, Jamal Caldwell, Micheal Riel, Braxton Caldwell, Makayla Caldwell, and Layelon Caldwell also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Benny E. Caldwell will be conducted Tuesday, July 15 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Eddie Delp, Kokomo Guyton, Chris Caldwell, and Randall Fuquea. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday between the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
