Obituary

Bernice Conaway Bailey, 90, of Calhoun, died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Calhoun Health Care. She was born in Plainville, GA on September 4, 1927, daughter of the late Miles and Mozelle Chastain Conaway. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Odell Bailey on January 8, 1984; and her sisters, Nellie Bailey and Annie Lou Hensley.
During her lifetime, Bernice was employed with Gayley & Lord, formerly Burlington and Klopman Mills in Shannon, for 46 years.
Survivors include her son, Jack Bailey; her daughter, Barbara Justice, both of Calhoun; grandchildren, Candy (Marc) Brzozoski, and Shane (Tiffany) Watson; and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Ashlyn Brzozoski, and Lauren and Kate Watson.
Services to honor the life of Bernice Conaway Bailey will be held Tuesday, February 13th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will include Steve Wright, Kerry Autry, Billy Thomas, Mike Johnson, Alan Byars, and Jerry Edwards.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 12th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
