Obituary

Bertie Lou Ruth "Tate" Patton, 91, of Resaca, Georgia died Tuesday, August 10, 2020, at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born on April 5, 1929, in Rome, Georgia to the late Robert Lector Tate Sr. and Rosella Fowler Tate. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband in 1995 Harlon Franklin Patton Sr.; brother, Robert Lector Tate Jr; sister, Jessie Tate Sisson.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Patton, David (Dianne) Patton, Lamar (Sandra) Patton, Dennis (Debra) Patton, Harlon Patton Jr, Kenneth Patton, and Wendell( Rachelle) Patton all of Resaca; daughters and son-in-law, Gail Heath of Sugar Valley and Katherine ( Lonnie) Maddox of Resaca; special granddaughter, Barbara ( Pete) Epperson of Resaca; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives also survive.
The Funeral will be held Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 2:00 PM from Crossroad Community Church, 320 Bandy Lake Road, Resaca, GA 30735 with Rev. Alfred Freeman and Rev. Gary Jarrett officiating. Her body will lie in state on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the service hour of 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Resaca. Pallbearers include Wendell Patton Jr, Shane Patton, Joe Maddox, Brian Maddox, Wendell Brackett, and William Patton. Honorary pallbearers include Kevin Bryant, Christopher Robinson, and Jack Patton.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, social distancing guidelines will be observed and it is suggested that those attending visitation and funeral service to wear a mask.
