Obituary

Mrs. Bessie Mae Thacker Coggins, 92, of Ranger, Georgia died Wednesday, January 13, 2020, following several years of declining health.
Mrs. Coggins was born in Bartow County, Georgia on April 23, 1928, daughter of the late Eugene Lewis Thacker and Ruby Ann Crider Thacker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Coggins; a daughter, Sandra Coggins, two sisters; Bonnie Thacker White and Mozelle Thacker Phoebus, two brothers; Harland Thacker and Ted Thacker. She was a longtime Avon representative, and prior to her retirement she was employed by Doyles Truck Stop, Ed Lacey Mills, Kenny Lacey Mills and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include four nieces; Vicki Townsend, Marsha Parker, Sharon Mix, Melinda Walls, nephews; Larry Thacker, Michael West, Jeff Thacker, Tim West, Gary West and Mark West along with other relatives.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is concerned about the wellbeing of relatives and friends and have chosen to have an outdoor graveside service on Friday, January 15, 2020, at 3:00 PM from New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Eddie Brannon will officiate.
It is suggested that masks be worn and social distancing guidelines be followed.
