Bessie Dorsey

Mrs. Bessie Neal Ingle Dorsey, age 90 of Calhoun, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Gordon County, daughter of the late Crosey and Olivia Meadows Neal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Turner Presley Ingle; a daughter, Brenda Balliew; and brothers, Earnest Neal, Crawford Neal, and Rufus Neal.

Mrs. Dorsey loved to cook, clean, and iron, and had worked at GA Tufters for many years, then retiring from Crown Craft. She was an active member of Calhoun 1st Baptist Church and the Ruth's Sunday School Class.

She leaves behind her husband of 23 years, Douglas L. Dorsey of the residence; her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Kathy Ingle of Calhoun; step-sons, John Dorsey and Tom Dorsey, both of Salina, Kansas; a step-daughter, Rebecca Baltazah of Salina; grandchildren, Dana Real and her husband Grant of Woodstock, Angie Brady of Calhoun, Rebecca Mathis and her husband Chad of Calhoun, and Kim Brown and her husband Shaun of Calhoun; and great-grandchildren, Anna and Olivia Real, Crosley Brady, and Grace and Haley Mathis. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bessie Neal Ingle Dorsey will be held Friday, September 13th at 11:00 AM from the Calhoun First Baptist Church, with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Music will be arranged by Kenny Herron. Active pallbearers will include Grant Real, David Rickett, Chad Mathis, Richard Pack, Andy Brady, and Shaun Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ruth's Sunday School Class of Calhoun 1st Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dorsey's body will lie in state at the Calhoun 1st Baptist Church Friday from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour of 11:00 AM.

The family will receive friends at Calhoun 1st Baptist Church Thursday, September 12th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
