Obituary
On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, Bessie Lynn Snellings left this world and transitioned to her heavenly home where she will be with Jesus forever. We will miss Bessie Lynns sweet smile. She would always brighten up any room. We will miss the many prayers she has prayed for us. We will miss her encouraging words. She would never let you give up and quit. Bessie would always say patience, patience. She had a very strong faith in God. She loved everyone unconditionally. She has been an inspiration to all who knew her. To know her was to love her. Bessies greatest joy was any contact she had with children. She did not have to know them, but you could see the heart of God when Bessie would smile and give them attention. She loved God, her family, and friends. She was a member of Decatur First Baptist for many years. She attended Blackwood Springs Baptist Church and loved her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Ruth Gains Snellings.
She is survived by her adopted mama, Rexine Howard; adopted sister, Adelle Keener; special friends, David and Virginia Patterson. She has a host of family members from the Hayes, Maddox, Conde, Mattox, Roberts, Standridge, Brumble families, and a Cousin Mildred Carpenter of Gainsville, GA.
Bessie enjoyed volunteering for "Elsie Conde Camp" for special needs children. She always loved volunteering at Blewer Food Center. Bessie looked forward to attending Gordon County Senior Citizen Center, where she has many friends.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 25, 2022, from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons on Sunday, September 25, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, Georgia. Pallbearers are, Jay Mattox, Jessie Mattox, Xander Roberts, Micah Brumble, Jake Brumble, Michael Roberts, and Iggy Conde.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bessie's honor to the Blewer Food Center in Calhoun, Georgia, or Cross Training Sports Camp Inc for Elsie Conde Camps. Also, those attending may bring a stuffed animal to be donated to the Gordon County Sherriff's Office, which will be given to deputies to provide to children in stressful situations.
