Betty Jean Barton

Mrs. Betty Jean Acree Barton, age 81 of Rockmart, formerly of Resaca, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Rockmart Health and Rehab following several years of declining health. She was born in Oklahoma on September 23, 1932, daughter of the late John and Elsie Cline Acree. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Barton in 1992; brothers, L.R. Acree, Elmer Acree, and Louis Acree; and sisters, Martha Acree Davis and Johnnie Acree.

During her lifetime, Mrs. Barton had been employed with Pinion Rug Company. She was of the Assembly of God faith.

Survivors include a son, John Barton and his wife Lori of Dallas, GA; a grandchild, Caris Barton; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Jean Acree Barton will be held Tuesday, August 26th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmie Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Barton family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 1:00 PM.
