Obituary
Mrs. Betty Lee (Hall) Walraven age 87 of Calhoun, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.
Betty was born in Gordon County on May 8, 1933, the daughter of the late R. Lee Hall and Ruby Clements Hall. Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Walraven in 1981; and her son, Randy Walraven in 1994, her brothers; Joe Chadwick, Charles Hall, James Hall, and a sister; Nell Serritt.
Mrs. Walraven was dedicated to caring for her family and was a member of the East Calhoun Church of God. She volunteered and served as a past board member of the Gordon County Health Department, she was nominated and chosen in the 1996 Atlanta Centennial Olympic games relay across the United States as a Gordon County Community Hero Torchbearer.
Survivors include a son; Ronnie Walraven and his wife Jolly of Sumter, SC; a daughter, Cathy Hutchinson, and her husband George, of Sugar Valley, GA. Also, grandchildren; Zach Hutchinson, Gray Hutchinson and his wife Carly, Christine Walraven, Andrew Walraven, Ronnie Boyd Walraven and Matthew Walraven. Great-grandchildren; Hayden Walraven, Arianna Walraven and Myles Hutchinson. Brothers; Rembert (Carol) Hall and Larry (Nan) Hall also survive as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Lee (Hall) Walraven will be held on Friday, August 7th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Larry Hall and Eddie Brannon officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Boyd in the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 7th from 10:00 AM until the funeral Hour. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, social distancing guidelines will be observed.
