Mrs. Betty Silvers Fain, age 75 of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Gordon County on May 3, 1939, daughter of the late Lummy and Pauline Parker Silvers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Fain.
Betty was a homemaker, and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ.
She leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Connie Fain; a daughter and son-in-law, Trish and Henry Cox; four brothers, M.L. Silvers and his wife Charlotte, Ricky Silvers and his wife Melinda, Artrell Silvers, and Jeff Silvers, all of Calhoun; four sisters, Hazel Jackson and her husband Hubert, Ora Mae Fain and the late James Fain, Mary Ruth Burchett and her husband Trammell, and Joyce Gentry, all of Calhoun; and special family members, Joyce Silvers and Ronnie Gentry of Calhoun. Grandchildren surviving are Chad, Justin, and Rachel Cox, David Fain, Kayleigh Holiday, Lacey Baynes; a special adopted granddaughter, Katherine Murray Plunkett; and a special adopted grandson, Bretlin Barnette. Great-grandchildren are Aleah Cox, Clay and Cody Cox, and Mady Owens.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Silvers Fain will be held Friday, May 30th at 11:00 AM from The Church of Jesus Christ, with Rev. Josh Maddox and Rev. Joe Fountain officiating. Music will be arranged by Freddie Craig. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers serving will include Michael Quarles, Hunter Quarles, Brian Young, Stacy James, Blake Silvers, and Randy Holland.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
