Mrs. Bettye Wilson Patterson, 73 of Calhoun, died Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Gordon Health Care. She was born in Pickens County, GA on October 2, 1941, daughter of the late Milford W. Wilson and Barbara Lucille Champion Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Patterson; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wiley and Estelle Patterson; sister-in-law and brother-in-laws, Nancy and Edward Womack, James Patterson and Christine Patterson and a special friend, Ann Hammonds.
Bettye was a loving caregiver, wanting to take care of everyone. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.
She leaves behind her sons, Greg Patterson and his wife Shannon of Sugar Valley, and Scott Patterson of Hot Springs, AK; daughters, Aletae Quarles and her husband Steve of Calhoun, and Alisha Parker and her husband Joe of Resaca; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mildred and Ty Smith of Atlanta, Frances and J.T. Poole of Powder Springs, Norman Patterson of Knoxville, TN, Margaret Patterson of Calhoun and special cousin, Hazel Fite and her husband Tony. Grandchildren surviving are Shelley and Jay Holsomback, Ross and Katie Quarles, Zack and Nicole Quarles, Melea and Edgar Neely, Cody and Rachel Patterson, Tyler and Katherine Patterson, Matthew and Sarah Webb, Gary and Marlana Quinn, and Russell and Candi Fite. Sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Services to honor the life of Mrs. Bettye Wilson Patterson will be held Tuesday, September 29th at 2:00 PM from Belmont Baptist Church, with Bro. Lamar Hand, Dr. John Allen, and Pastor Dwaine Shadix officiating. Music will be arranged by Jim Sellers. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Ross Quarles, Zack Quarles, Edgar Neely, Jay Holsomback, Matthew Webb, Bryson Parker, and Mike Linskey. Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Gordon Health Care, and John Early.
The Patterson family will receive friends at Belmont Baptist Church on Monday, September 28th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the service hour of 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Alzheimers Association, 922 East Morris Street, Dalton, GA 30721.
