Bill Owensby

Mr. Bill Owensby, age 85 of Dalton, GA passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Copperhill, TN on December 22, 1927, son of the late John and Hettie Elrod Owensby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Mae Crane Owensby; two daughters, Betty Owensby Chastain and Doris Owensby; a son-in-law, Ricky Bramlett; a brother, Johnny Owensby; and a sister, Marie Brown.

He leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, James and Charlene Owensby of Dalton; two daughters, Sue Bramlett of Dalton, and Mary Fowler Singleton of Calhoun; two sons-in-law, David Chastain and Perry Singleton; and two sisters-in-law, Lula Long and Ruby Cowart. Grandchildren surviving are Eric and Sandi Owensby, Mandi and Wes Gentry, Russ and Tiffany Bramlett, Justin and Charlotte Chastain, Casey and Lorie Fowler, and Jonas and Amie Fowler; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Mikayla, Avary, Marlee, Easton, Trevor, Riley F., Ethan, Maci Grace, Vivian, Riley P., Sophie, and Kenleigh. Several nieces and nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Bill Owensby will be held Saturday, November 9th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. David Brown, Mr. Owensbys nephew, officiating. Interment will follow in Towes Chapel Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and include Eric Owensby, Casey Fowler, Jonas Fowler, Russ Bramlett, Justin Chastain, and honorary grandson, Ron Duke.

The Owensby family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday, November 8th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
