Billy Eugene Shaw

Mr. Billy Eugene Shaw, Sr., 78, died Thursday, December 31, 2015 at his home following several months of declining health. He was born in Gordon County on October 8, 1937, son of the late Paul Richard and Rosa Mae Boswell Shaw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Richard Paul Shaw and Henry Dudley Shaw.

Mr. Shaw was a veteran, serving his country in the US Navy.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ann Hice Shaw; his sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Darlene Shaw of Talking Rock, and Jimmy and Kelly Shaw of Calhoun; his daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Joe Carpenter, and Denise and Andy Mulkey, all of Fairmount; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Billy Eugene Shaw, Sr. will be held Sunday, January 3rd at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Hibberts officiating. Music will be arranged by Payton Silvers. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will include Mike Jones, Scott Shaw, Kevin Rickett, Joshua Mulkey, Jake Benton, and Joey Bryant. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Holbrook, Wayne McDaniel, Alan Short, and Raymond Ross.

The Shaw family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, January 2nd from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
