Blake Dodd

Mr. Ronald Blake Dodd, age 35 of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born in Whitfield County on May 15, 1978, son of Ronald Dodd and Darlene Thomas Bearden. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Ethel "Granny" Dodd; an aunt, Charlene Fain; and uncles, Harold, Harlen and Waylon Dodd.

Blake was a veteran, serving in the US Marine Corps, receiving a Rifle Expert Badge and Pistol Marksman Badge.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Dodd of Calhoun; father and step-mother, Ronnie and Melissa Dodd of Calhoun; mother and step-father, Darlene and Michael Bearden of Calhoun; brother, Brandon Michael Bearden of Rocky Face; a sister, Chasidy Dodd of Calhoun; a step-brother, Brandon Williams; and his girlfriend, Heather Hall. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Ronald Blake Dodd will be held Saturday, October 26th at 3:00 PM from Trinity Baptist Church, 1170 Rome Road SW, Calhoun, with Rev. Carl Converse and Rev. Tim Erwin officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens with military honors. Active pallbearers include Brandon Bearden, Mike Jackson, Danny Smith, Brandon Williams, Wesley Dodd, and Alan Lackey. Honorary pallbearers are Blake's co-workers and members of his softball team.

The Dodd family will receive friends Friday, October 25th at Trinity Baptist Church from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
