Bobby Eugene Pendergrass

Mr. Bobby Eugene Pendergrass, age 70 of Calhoun, died Sunday, June 26, 2011. He was born in Franklin, NC on February 7, 1941, son of the late Troy and Lassie Hall Pendergrass.

Bobby was a retired brick mason, and had also been employed as a security guard after retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Swafford Pendergrass; three sons, Jackie Swafford Pendergrass of Calhoun, and Bobby Pendergrass, Jr., and Phillip Pendergrass and his wife Robin, both of Gretna, VA; two daughters, Sally Shelton, and Jenny Garrett and her husband Damon, both of Gretna; and four sisters, Mary Thomas and her husband Lonnie of Bryson City, NC, Rita McCoy of Franklin, NC, and Dean and her husband Bobby, and Shirley and her husband Ray, both of Gretna, VA. Grandchildren surviving are Mattie, Cierra, Phillip, Jr., and Caleb Pendergrass, Dakota Garrett, Joey Pendergrass, and Karen Satter; and a great-granddaughter, Casey Satter. Nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members, Rodney, Wanda, Josh and Joel Watson and family of Resaca, GA also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Eugene Pendergrass will be held Tuesday, June 28th at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Watson, Joel Watson, Charles Hall, and Randall Black.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 11:00am until the funeral hour of 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
