Bobby Glenn Boswell

Mr. Bobby Glenn Boswell, age 79 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at his home following a brain bleed which occurred on January 20th. He was born in Hogansville, GA on March 1, 1935, son of the late Joe and Hattie May Boswell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Leroy Boswell, G.A. Boswell, and Ben Boswell; sisters, Nell Justiss, Ruby Hall, Jodi Haynes, and Ellen Moore; and a grandchild, Carolyn Ann Boswell.

Mr. Boswell was retired from the US Air Force, where he served in Korea and Vietnam. His commendations and decorations include Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon w/2 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. After his military career, he owned and operated Boswell Construction for 25 years. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Marleen Rose Rhetts Boswell; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Donna Boswell of Carrolton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Kenny McCollom of Carrolton, Darleen and Don Hall of Calhoun, and Carleen and Kevin Crump of Calhoun; a brother, Harry Boswell; and a sister, Nancy McAllister. Grandchildren surviving are Bryan Hall, Brooke Dyer, Brianna Hall, Blair Hall, Craig Crump, Cassie Crump, Carissa Crump, Cara Crump, Tony Boswell, Floyd Boswell, Vernon Boswell, Victoria Phillips, Hannah McCollom, and Jo Lee Bass. Thirteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Bobby Glenn Boswell will be held Thursday, February 5th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Dr. William Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Bryan Hall, Craig Crump, Tony Boswell, Floyd Boswell, Vernon Boswell, and Jo Lee Bass.

The Boswell family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
