Obituary
Bobby Joe Duvall, 63, died Monday, October 29, 2018. He was born in Calhoun, GA on August 21, 1955, son of the late Grady Duvall and Nannie Lou Burchett Duvall.
Bobby was a lifelong resident of Gordon County and a graduate of Red Bud High School. He was an employee of Beaulieu of America for 32 years, and at the time of his death, was employed by Engineered Flooring as a Department Manager. Bobby was a member of New Town Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, and Director of the van ministry.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Melinda Diane Goodnight Duvall; his son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Amanda Duvall; his daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Jacob Hyder; his grandchild, Tessa Hyder; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester and Ann Duvall, and Randy and Judy Duvall; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah Duvall and Truman Whitfield, Linda and Tony Nix, Teresa and Rick Dempsey; and Chris and Dennis Petty; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services to honor the life of Bobby Joe Duvall will be held Thursday, November 1st at 2:00 p.m., from New Town Baptist Church. Rev. Walter Hare will officiate. Music will be arranged by the New Town Trio. Burial will follow at Chandler Cemetery, with Rev. Eddie Brannon in charge of the committal service. Pallbearers are the Deacons of New Town Baptist Church.
The Duvall family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, October 31st, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Thursday, November 1st, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Town Baptist Church.
