Bobby Lee Patterson

Mr. Bobby Lee Patterson, age 75, of Calhoun, passed away Friday, December 22, 2006, in North Carolina. He was born in Floyd County on November 21, 1931, son of the late John McNeil and Bessie Mae Long Patterson. Mr. Patterson retired from the Gordon County Sheriff's Department in 1992, and was a member of Newtown Baptist Church. He was a member of Oothcalooga Lodge #154 F & AM and the Gordon County Low Twelve Club. He was preceded in death by a brother, J.M. Patterson, and a grandchild, Jody Patterson.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Flonnie Seabolt Patterson, to whom he was married on July 2, 1949; two sons; Kenneth Patterson and his wife Paula of Calhoun, and Kevin Patterson and his wife Michelle of Granite Falls, North Carolina; a daughter, Karen Goforth and her husband Robert of Calhoun; a sister, Mary Myatt of Calhoun; grandchildren; Tim Brake, Tony Brake, James Goforth, T.J. Goforth, Katrina Rich, Joey Rich, and Brianna Patterson. Nine great-grandchildren, aunts and uncles, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Patterson will be conducted on Sunday, December 24, at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. George Adams and Rev. Jack Bell officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Tony Brake, Tim Brake, T.J. Goforth, Joey Rich, Corey Chitwood, Charles Brake, and James Goforth. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Calhoun Winners Club or The Boy Scouts Troop 13 of Calhoun.
