Bobby Parker

Mr. Bobby Parker, age 81 of Plainville, GA died Monday, December 19, 2011 at his residence following seven years of declining health.

He was born on July 4, 1930 in Gordon County, son of the late Henry E. and Bonnie Jo Parker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, infant Robert Parker and James David Parker; and a brother, Eddie Parker. Mr. Parker was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War.

Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Pass Parker, to whom he was married for 57 years; two daughters, Denise Glass and her husband Ronnie York of Plainville, and Kyle Silvers and her husband Joe of Fairmount; a son, Keith Parker and his wife Yvonne of Calhoun; a sister, Edna Causby of Calhoun; grandchildren, Jeremy Parker, Brandy May and her husband Jeff, Amanda Faulkinberry and her husband Eric, Crystal Blackstock, Stacie Blackstock and Brittany Parker; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Dylan, Preston, Peyton, Jacob and Allie; two sisters-in-law, JoDean Bryant and Maureen Pass; and a brother-in-law, Johnny Pass of Boston, MA.

Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Parker will be conducted Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Bailey Oliver officiating. Pallbearers serving will include James Parker, Johnny Parker, Russell Bryant, Dylan Blackstock, Rickie Stone and Jeremy Parker. Interment will follow the service in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the Parker family requests that contributions be made to the Diabetes and Alzheimer's Foundations in memory of Mr. Parker.
