Mrs. Bonnie Wilkey Parks Shepherd, age 85 of Plainville, GA, passed away on the 17th of June, 2017, peacefully in her home.
She was born in Pickens County, Georgia on February 21, 1932, daughter of Beulah Garland Wilkey and John Thomas Wilkey. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of the Plainville Church of God of Prophecy.
Mrs. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and John Wilkey; her late husband, Mr. Felton William (Bill) Shepherd; her son, Tim William Parks; and grandson, John Cummins.
Survivors include her children, Allen Parks, Lawrence (L.E.) Parks, Thomas Parks, and Jennie Childers, all of Plainville, Georgia. Grandchildren include Missy and Chris Bankston of Temple, GA, Tonia and Gregg Lowman of Adairsville, GA, Heath Parks of Plainville, GA, Bryan and Beth Selman of Lindale, GA, Corey and Gwen Wiencek of Atlanta, GA, Samantha and Marc Miller of Euharlee, GA, Jennifer and Glen Grimsley of Dalton, GA, Christie and Matthew Self of Adairsville, GA, Timothy Parks of Rome, GA, Cody and Tori of Plainville, GA, and Angel Parks of Chattanooga, TN. Followed by 13 great-grand children and several great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services to honor the life of Mrs. Bonne Wilkey Parks Shepherd will be held Tuesday, June 20th at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Gaddis and Rev. Spencer Padgett officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Daniel Wilkey, Joseph Wilkey, Kenny Gravitt, Wyman Autry, Wyman Wilkey, and Gene McEntyre. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Payne and Bryan Selman.
The Shepherd family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 19th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
