Mrs. Brenda Fain Coggins, age 54 of the Pine Chapel Community, departed this life to be with her heavenly father on Friday evening, January 30, 2009 in Gordon Hospital following an extended battle with cancer.
Brenda was born in Gordon County on August 31, 1954, daughter of Ralph Fain and the late Charlene Dodd Fain. She had been associated with Georgia Tufters Corporation, which is now known as Shaw Industries, for the past 33 years. Brenda and husband Lowell were attending members of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church near Sonoraville, and a graduate of Red Bud School.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Lowell Coggins, to whom she was married for 28 years. Others survivors include her father, Ralph Fain of Calhoun; a sister, Sharon Williams of Calhoun; and a brother, Danny Fain and his wife Annette of Crandall. Nieces and nephews include Ashley Marshall, Nicole Williams, Dana Sisson, Brandon and Brody Williams.
Services to celebrate the life of Brenda Fain Coggins will be held Monday, February 2nd at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Max Brannon & sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Naylor officiating. Music will be arranged by Donna Fuquea Couch. Interment will follow in Pine Chapel Cemetery with Eddie Brannon conducting the graveside service. Pallbearers serving will include Billy Gallmon, Reed and Ricky Crook, Jerome Silvers, Phil Roland and Lanier Roland. Honorary pallbearers serving will include Bob Reeves, Jan Greeson, Brody and Brandon Williams, Kevin Barton and Richard Wright.
The family of Brenda Fain Coggins will receive friends Sunday between the hours of 4:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
