Obituary
Brenda Tate Fuquea, 72, of Calhoun died at Hamilton Medical Center on Friday, January 18, 2019. Brenda was born in Calhoun on July 17, 1946; she was the daughter of the late John and Clara Bagley Tate. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Elaine West, Louise Williams, Yvonne Hattem, and Geraldine Geraldson; her brother, Wayne Tate. Brenda was an LPN; she worked at Gordon Hospital and several other medical facilities. She also owned and operated Nells Daycare. For more than forty years, she was a member of Russell Hill Baptist Church where she served as the organist.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Fuquea; her daughter and son-in-law, Jennie and Michael Cleveland; her grandson, Finn Cleveland; her brother, Bobby Tate; her nieces, Debbie Poston, Stephanie Hill, and Brenda Jenkins; her brother-in-law, Randall Fuquea.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 19th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. from Russell Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Joe Hall and Rev. Michael Blackstock will officiate. Pat Hall will have charge of the music. Pallbearers are Randall Fuquea, Chad Greeson, Jerry Shugart, Rev. Stacy Hensley, Rick Grizzle, and Charles Gentry; James Peeler will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
