Brenda Parker

Mrs. Brenda Sue Parker, age 61 of Fairmount, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 at her residence following several years of declining health.

She was born on January 12, 1949 in Pickens County, daughter of Mrs. Jessie Lee Timms Griffin and the late J.M. Griffin. She had been employed with the Fairmount Elementary School.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband, Buddy Parker, to whom she was married for 43 years; two daughters, Dana Quinn and her husband Donny of Fairmount, and Donna Rogers and her husband Shane of Adairsville; her mother, Mrs. Jessie Lee Griffin; three sisters, Linda Dilbeck and her husband Robert of Calhoun, Judy Thomas of Fairmount, and Sharon Horner and her husband Billy of Fairmount; and two brothers, Johnny Griffin and his wife Jeanie of Fairmount, and Timmy Griffin and his wife Naketa of Oakman. Four grandchildren, Kenly Rogers, Dylan Rogers, Bonnie Quinn and Hunter Quinn; and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Sue Parker will be conducted Monday at 2:00pm from the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church, with Rev. Steve Morrow and Rev. Ed Pasley officiating. Pallbearers serving will include Jack Corn, Jonathan Griffin, Jacob Griffin, Dustin Thomas, John Thomas, Martin Horner and Jeremy Griffin. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

The family will begin receiving friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Sunday morning after 11:00am.
