Brenda Sharlene Reed

Mrs. Brenda Sharlene Holder Reed, age 60 of Calhoun, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Reed was born in Gordon County on August 17, 1951, daughter of the late Guy and Mozell Smallwood Holder, and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Holder and Gary Holder, and a sister, Kathy Holder.

Survivors include a daughter, Tabitha Parker Clark and her husband Robert of Cartersville; a son, Michael Franklin Parker of California; four grandchildren, Shannon Parker, Starla Parker, Ryan McCoy and Charity McCoy; a brother, Ronnie Holder of Calhoun; three sisters, Kay Biggs and her husband David of Calhoun, Fay Johnson, and Darlene Hall and her husband Randy of Calhoun; the father of her children, Franklin Parker; and a sister-in-law, Janie Holder. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Holder Reed will be held Saturday, January 7th at 2:00 PM from the Union Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Johnny Loggins, Rev. Gary Gentry, and Rev. Shawn Nation officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Music will be arranged by Mrs. Darlene Hubbard. Pallbearers serving will include Terry Martin, Stephen Biggs, Chris Johnson, Rusty Hopkins, Caleb Black and Matthew Hall. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan McCoy, Todd Haygood, Lee Holder, David Holder, Randall Trammell and Eddie Trammell.

The family of Brenda Holder Reed will receive friends Friday evening between the hours of 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. at the funeral home.
