Mrs. Brenda Lee Shultz, 77, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born in Dawsonville, Georgia, on December 24, 1946, the daughter of the late Lonnie Lee Bryson and Hazel Martin Bryson. She graduated from Dawson County High School and served as secretary to the Gordon County Sheriff’s Department under former sheriffs Pat Baker and Sid Roberts for 36 years. before retirement, she was employed by the Gordon County Board of Commissioners in the Records Retention Department for ten years. She was a longtime member of Belmont Baptist Church, serving in various ministries; she enjoyed lending a hand to others in need, was a loving mother and grandmother, and cherished her many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Lynn “Jeff” Shultz, on March 18, 2021, and a brother, Ronald Bryson.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Kathy Shultz; three grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, and David Kim; sisters Gail Corn and Sandra Vaughn; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Joyce Bryson; and other relatives.
A service to celebrate Brenda’s life will be on Thursday at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary of Belmont Baptist Church. Family and friends will share eulogies. Jim and Treva Sellers will arrange the music.
The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. before the service. The family asks that flowers be omitted and contributions be given in her memory to the Animal Rescue League of Northwest Georgia, 1384 Self Lake Road, Fairmount, GA 30139.
