Bruce Gilbert

Mr. Bruce Gilbert, age 60 of Ranger, GA, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Erlanger Medical Center. He was born in Floyd County, GA December 27, 1953, son of the late R.B. and Betty Sue Gilbert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Young Gilbert in 2012.

Bruce had been employed as a Mason with Gilbert Masonry for 46 years.

He leaves behind his children, Timmie Holden, Roger Gilbert, Randy Gilbert, Pamela Gilbert, Jimmy Gilbert, and Gary Gilbert; a brother, Ricky Gilbert; one sister, Denise Southerland, ; grandchildren, Tiffany Holden, Tonya Holden, Tamara Holden, Jarrod Holden, Brooklyn Gilbert, Allison Holden, Summer Gilbert, Robert Gilbert, Dustin Gilbert, Haven Gilbert, Christopher Newport, Christina Newport, and Cooper Gilbert; and great-grandchildren, Darrius Stone, Keriana Stone, Natalie Richard, Areil Hicks, Adalena Holden, and Antwon Fleetwood, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Bruce Gilbert will be held Thursday, April 24th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Lamar Bearden officiating. Interment will follow in Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Chad Temple, Don Don Medlin, William Gilfoil, Anthony Brown, Mitchel Treadaway, and James Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Nesbitt, Jarrod Holden, and Tom Gallman.

The Gilbert family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday after 6:00 PM.
