Mr. Buddy Parker, 75, a well-known resident of Fairmount, Georgia, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Parker was born on December 15, 1948, the son of the late John Henry Parker and Tilda Ann Cox Parker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Sue Griffin Parker; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Tom Carver; and four brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Edna Parker. Russell Parker, Junior Parker, Jacky Parker, and Judy Parker.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served with the 108th Armored Battalion Tank Division and received the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, and Sharp Shooter Badge Rifle M16. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Tyson Foods as a feed truck driver with more than one million accident-free miles.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Donny Quinn and Donna and Shane Rogers; grandchildren Kenly (Brittany) Rogers, Dylan (Hannah) Rogers, Hunter Quinn, and Bonnie (Levi) Storm; great-grandchildren Audrey Davidson, Kellan Rogers, Dewey Storm, and Opal Storm; sister Jeanne (Johnny) Griffin; Roy (Debbie) Parker; and Tommy Parker; sisters-in-law Sonya Champion Parker and Elaine Parker; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 1:00 PM from Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church, with Rev. Steve Morrow officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with military honors from the United States Army Honor Guard.

Pallbearers serving include Kenly Rogers, Dylan Rogers, Hunter Quinn, Jacob Griffin, Johnathan Griffin and Martin Horner. Honoray pallbearers are Roy Parker, Tommy Parker, Johnny Griffin, Levi Storm, Shane Rogers, Donny Quinn and Jackie Corn.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 1st, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
