Butch Bryant

Mr. Ernest Lionel "Butch" Bryant, age 76 of Calhoun, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Bryant was born in Floyd county January 20, 1933, son of the late Rosco and Ethel Hartline Bryant. He was a retired textile maintence worker at Crown Craft for 20 years, and served in the United States Navy from 1951 - 1955. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Bryant. Mr. Bryant attended the Sugar Valley Church of God.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Ruth Baker Bryant; a son, Steve Bryant and his wife Shirley of Calhoun; a granddaughter, Tracie Crowsey and her husband Aaron; and a great grandson, Ashton Crowsey, all of Fayetteville, TN. Three nephews, David Bryant, Doug Bryant, and Dallas Bryant also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Lionel "Butch" Bryant will be conducted at 3:00pm Friday, from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Dwaine Shadix officiating. Singing will be arranged by JoAnne Raines. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers include David Bryant, Doug Bryant, Donald Timms, Tom Pickle, David Raines, Tony Brown, and Lonnie Walker. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home at 2:00pm on Friday. The family will receive friends Thursday after 5:00pm at the funeral home.
