B.W. Silvers

Mr. B.W. Silvers, age 79 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County on December 29, 1928, son of the late Harley and Oma Beal Silvers.

Mr. Silvers was a retired maintenance supervisor for Astro Dye. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during WWII, receiving a victory medal, was a member of the Victory Temple Church of God, and an emeritus member of Sugar Valley Lodge # 733 F & AM of Sugar Valley.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kathy Lee Silvers, and by his grandparents, James Columbus Beal and Betty Blankenship Beal.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years; Chasteen Beasley Silvers, three sons; Jerry Silvers and his wife Linda of Calhoun, Markie Burton of Calhoun and Adam Silvers and his wife Crystal of Adairsville; three daughters, Dianne McBurnett and her husband Wayne, Judy Duncan and her husband Dennis, and Debbie Ingram and her husband Stephen, all of Calhoun. One brother, J.V. Silvers of Chatsworth, eighteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. B.W. Silvers will be conducted Friday, January 25, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Junior Clayton and Rev. Paul Tipton officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery, with military honors. Active pallbearers serving will include Barry Troglin, Christopher McGuire, Jerry Wayne Silvers Jr., Jared Gray, Adam Silvers and Brian Avery. Honorary pallbearers will include officers and members of the Calhoun Police Department, other local law enforcement officers, and members of the Heyman Hospice Group of Floyd County. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday, after 5:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent and the guestbook may be signed at www.maxbrannonandsons.com
